1. Are there campgrounds on the site?
YES. But only for RV (1st come - 1st serve basis) There are also campgrounds nearby.
2. Is the campsite on the festival grounds protected by security?
Security is on the festival grounds ... but it is for the purpose of the festival ... not for personal reasons. Each camper is responsible for his/her own property.
3. Is it permissible to camp in one's car?
NO. You can't sleep in your car. You cannot pitch a tent, nor set up your sleeping or eating spot outside your car.
4. What is the price On-Site RV Camp?
Please call the Monterey County Fairgrounds for pre-sale Camping information.
5. Are there motels and hotels nearby?
YES...and they fill up quickly before the festival. There are motel/hotel accommodations nearby, so Contact Monterey Chamber of Commerce for information
6. Is there electricity or water hookups for RV's?
YES.
7. Is there a shuttle available?
NO.
8. What kind of weather is normal for the festival?
The normal weather is hot during the day, but can become very cool at night. You'll need sandals, a sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen. Don't forget to bring a sweeter or blanket for the night air.
9. Is there food to eat and water to drink?
YES. Food and beverage vendors are set up on the site with delicious food.
10. Will there be any vegetarian food sold at the festival?
YES. There will be plenty of vegetarian food at the festival®.
11. Can we bring our own beverages to the festival?
NO. You can't bring your own beverages to the festival, there will be quite a selection of beverages provided by the food venders. You may not, bring alcoholic beverages into the festival.
MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS:
12. Is the festival inside or outside?
Outside
13. How do you get to be a volunteer or get to be on a waiting list to be a volunteer?
Volunteers that volunteered at last year's festival will automatically receive a mailing
in May from the MBRF & Volunteer Coordinator. These folks have 1st option to
volunteer in the present year. We usually know by the beginning of July if we are
going to need any new volunteers and start to take names from the waiting list. To
get on the waiting list for volunteers send an email to mbrf98@aol.net. The Waiting
List fills up by the middle of July.
14. Is Internet access available on the site?
NO.
15. Are there arts & crafts sold at the festival?
YES, some of the most awesome and high quality crafts are sold at the festival from
clothes, shoes, African treasures, jewelry, painting and beautiful art pieces. An
unbelievable selection.
16. Can we bring Reggae merchandise to sell?
Items can only be sold through the Vendor Booths.
There is absolutely " no unauthorized vending" allowed on the festival site.

17. Are generators allowed?
NO.
18. Are bicycles allowed?
NO. Bicycles are not allowed, on site except for security & staff.
CAMERAS, VIDEO AND AUDIO EQUIPMENT:
19. Can we bring in cameras?
YES to 35mm, instant, etc. (no digital cameras)
20. Digital cameras?
NO. Digital cameras will be confiscated at the gate.
21. Video cameras?
NO. Video cameras will be confiscated at the gate.
22. Audio recording devices?
NO. Audio recording devices will be confiscated at the gate.
CHILDREN & BABIES:
23. Are children allowed?
YES.
24. What is the ticket price for children?
Children 12 years old and younger are free with a ticketed adult.
25. Are there designated children sections on the site?
Yes. There is a designated area for children with games, arts and crafts, special
presentations and shade. Children cannot be left in this area unattended.
26. Is there shading for babies?
There are several shaded areas available on the site, however lots of the site is in the
sun and the temperatures may be hot. Please bring shade for your babies.
PERFORMERS AND PASSES:
27. Can we meet the performers?
As a general rule, the performers go immediately to the Press Tent, then leave the
site area.
28. How can we get backstage passes?
Backstage passes are given to guests of the performers and media.
29. How can we get passes to be in the photo section?
Photo Passes and Press Passes are given to qualified media.
30. How can we get autographs or photos of the performers?
Snapshots are allowed when performer is onstage.
PARKING:
31. Is there parking area available?
YES. Parking is available.
32. Can we order parking passes in advance?
NO.
FESTIVAL RULES:
33. Are pets allowed on the site?
Absolutely NO pets are allowed at the MBRF..
34. Does the festival stay open all night?
No. MBRF starts at 3:30 pm on Friday and 11:00 am on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival is cleared and the gates are closed just after the last performance each
night.
35. When do the gates open and close?
Gates open:
3:00 pm - Friday
11:00 a.m. - Saturday
11:00 a.m. - Sunday
There is no in and out allowed, once you're at the festival, you're in for the day.
36. Is it 3 whole days?
YES. From Friday a.m. to Sunday pm.

37. When do tickets go on sale?
The scheduled date for Monterey Bay Reggaefest tickets varies each year. This year it was April 16th.
38. Who do we make the check payable to?
All checks may be made payable to Monterey Bay Reggaefest.
39. Do our ticket requests need to be sent by certified mail?
Yes, for accountability and to ensure that it was received.
40. Can we purchase tickets online with credit cards?

41. Can tickets be purchased for specific days instead of all three days?
YES. The TICKET PRICE is set for individual dates and the whole festival.
42. I need 4 tickets - do I need to complete a 3 x 5 card for each person?
We need one name, address and phone number -- for mailing the tickets. One address per service charge.
43. I placed a ticket order but have not heard back from MBRF. Who should I contact?

44. Is there an accessible area for persons with disabilities?
YES.
45. Do we need passes for that?
At the time of purchasing tickets, make a notation of the need for accommodations.
46. For those in wheelchairs staying in town, are there parking areas available?
YES. There are plenty of Handicap Parking on Fairgrounds Road and on Garden R Road.
